Snail Mail. Sugar Shots Photography│Houston Photographer
February 6th, 2009 , Posted in Sugar Land + Houston Photography: My LifeGood things come by way of the postman. It never fails: No matter how gloomy your day is going, if the postman happens to swing by your house and drop off a little something to you that isn’t a bill, your day suddenly gets 10x brighter. It’s a simple fact of life. And in today’s world, where most of our correspondence is being done on the Internet (hi internet friends!), getting real live mail is even more special!
Today, I was visited by the postman. I received two very awesome things which made my cheery world get even brighter…
First: I got a bent up cardboard box that was addressed to my husband…. He brought it in off the front porch to me, smiling and looking rather proud. When he handed it to me, I was slightly puzzled. For me?? What the heck is this?? Whatever it is, I hope it’s not broken cuz it’s really beat up!?!? I opened it up and got a super fantastic surprise:
A vintage Argus C3!

My new little Argus is a 1954 model. At least I *think* it is…. from what I gathered by reading the manual it came with. Anyhow, it also came with it’s original brown leather carrying case, a flash, 2 boxes of flash bulbs, a vintage black camera bag, and a really cool Kodak Guide to taking photos!
I didn’t take pictures of everything, but here is the Kodak guide:

Isn’t it just the coolest thing ever?!? Well… I think it is. I will cherish it forever! Thanks, My Love! Muahh!
Second: The second most wonderful thing the postman delivered to me was quite unexpected. It was this awesome Valentines’ Day Card from AT&T….
Looks cute and has some silly coupons in it… BUT

then for some strange reason, I noticed (and took the time to read!) the small print:

So goofy! So glad I took the time to read their card!
Anyhow, it’s late over here and I need to go order a client’s photo order; so, my friends, I must bid you adieu now. Here’s to hoping the postman on your route delivers something extra special to you!

No occassion…She loves photography and everything associated with it. Watching her do what she loves, what makes her passionate…that is what I like to see. It was a present to my self to be able to watch her face when she pulled that old camera out of the box…
