Paula: Senior Rep | Sugar Land + Houston Senior Photographer

sweet.

Long overdue….  Paula’s sneak peek was promised to her almost a week ago, I think.  Paula, please forgive me… It seems as though I’ve been traveling at a speed of 100 mph lately, hardly having time to breathe, eat, or even think!  But, I know something my Internet friends don’t… Paula is fabulously sweet and I know she’ll forgive me!  I enjoyed every minute of working with her… She skipped around up and down railroad tracks, curbs, and alley ways for me – always with a smile.  And the fact that we were both sweating like pigs in the 100 degree heat didn’t seem to bother her either.  She just kept on keeping on.

Enjoy Paula!  The best ones are yet to come… Saving those for your slideshow!  :)

all.lined.up.

Another fabulous Senior Rep session….  Working with Allie was super fun because she was easy to get along with, funny, and willing to jump around and be goofy with me!  And although our bodies were being boiled in the fierce heat (102, I think!), steamed in rainforest-like humidity (I wouldn’t doubt if we had 100% humidity that day), and our hair re-washed in a few drops of rain…  She never failed to throw me a smile or smirk!  And, somehow, through all the intensities of the afternoon, she kept looking great…  While I, on the other hand, probably looked more like a sweaty little bus boy than a photographer!

Here are some more of my favorites:

I like the faded out colors on this next one:

cracked.paint.

Awesome.  In one word, that’s how I’d describe this senior session with Katie.  She was vibrant and contained a sense of vintage sweetness in her spirit.  And to top off all this awesomeness, I think she understood me… We are of the same kind.  She’s way into photography.  She studies it in her curriculum.  So it’s no wonder why I was super stoked to work with her… I just knew we’d ‘click’!

Here are some of my faves from our time working together!

I about lept out of my chair with glee when she told me she’d happily bring her mother’s vintage style bike…

And then, I almost did a double sommersault when she told me she’d ride at the session!

golden.

Working with Hillary was one of THE most fun times ever!  Not only did she teach me some new, funky sayings (like “that’s so witchcraft!”, ect ) but she was extremely funny, full of energy + laughter, and she worked the camera like she’d been modeling for years.  Seriously.  She did an awesome job + she made my job easy as pie.  Here are some of my top faves:

Isn’t she just the cutest?  Love these next two:

She has the most infectious happy personality… Perhaps that’s why I dig this next combo so much.  Her laughter was so cute!

Thanks Hillary….. I’m so glad I got to meet and work with you!

I’m… | Sugar Land + Houston Photographer

July 14th, 2009 , Posted in Richmond + Sugar Land + Houston Baby Photography, Richmond + Sugar Land + Houston Family Photography, Richmond + Sugar Land + Houston Kids Photography, Sugar Land + Houston Photography: My Life, Sugar Land + Houston Photography: Random

so excited…. I just can’t hide it!  (Yes, reach way back to 1982 for that one… The Pointer Sisters!)

Why am I so excited, you ask?  Well, I’ve got a ticket…

ticket.

To my fave artist of all time…

macca.

Yes, internet friends… I’m going to see Paul McCartney!  And, if you’ve ever looked at the “About Me” page on this blog, you’ll know that he is my absolute fave.  Like, really.  I love him.  A lot.  No, more than a lot.  A ton.  And, as if it couldn’t get any better, this time I’m bringing 2 of my 3 little girls with me!  My oldest daughter came with me + my husband to see Paul when she was about 5… but this will be my middle daughter’s first time!  She is super excited…  She knows almost every Beatles song… plenty of Wings songs… and every new Paul song.

Now.  If only I could get my hands on a backstage pass….  (sigh)

Oh!  On a completely unrelated subject…  We’ve had a major accomplishment in our household having to do with my 18 month old!  And actually, it happened without us even teaching her any of this…   She poses.  On command!  Ever single time I tell her to pose, she puts her hands on her little waste, pushes out one hip, and tilts her head!   Check her out:

strike.a.pose.

As the above photo shows, she poses no matter what kind of clothes she may or may not be wearing!  And after her pose, she exclaims – “CUTE!”

cute.

Um, what else can I share with you today….  Oh, I know!  I have new artwork in my office today… They are all original, given to me straight from the artist.

original.art.

the.line-up.

Well, that’s all for now!  If anyone knows where or how I can get my hands on a backstage pass for the Paul concert in Dallas… Let me know!   I’d be your best friend forever if you can hook me up!  :)

Sometimes you can just tell you are itching for a change…  I had that feeling today when I went in to visit my wonderful hairdresser Lynn.  I’d been thinking of doing the whole bangs thing since February and just now got the nerve to go for it… I’m sure glad I did!  It’s just what I needed…  And, the best part is my daughter thinks I look like a mod 60′s go-go dancer!  Score!!

Anyhow… Not only did I get the fresh new look I was yearning for, but I also was able to give my husband and daughter a good excuse to shoot me (with my camera!).  I’ve been giving them lessons in composition, etc and they are coming along wonderfully!  Pretty soon, Sugar Shots will have a 2nd and 3rd shooter!  :)  My oldest daughter took the above photo… pretty swell, huh?

My husband took these fabulous ones:

Me-oh-my.  I’ve only just begun editing this bridal session with the lovely Miss Brittani…  And, I can tell I’m going to just love them all!  She’s so fabulously pretty… And, her dress!  Oh gosh…  It was so classic.  And gorgeous.

Here’s a quick look into the treasures that this little session holds… I’ll post more when I’m done editing, promise.  :)

mod.couple.1

Modern + chic, with out a doubt, and completely in sync with one another.  That’s exactly  what this couple is…  Just hanging around them for a few hours and hearing the story about how they met, fell in love, travel all over the country together to find yummy restaurants and wineries to sample (just for fun) is enough to  know these two fabulous people are meant for one another.  Every movement and smile was so sweet and it became quite clear that these two love birds emensely enjoy the other’s company…  Their laughter and tenderness was such a joy to catch on camera!

Thanks for the fun, guys!  So sorry we had to endure that horrible rap-off between the two foul mouthed DJs at that outdoor festival!  Hey, if nothing else, at least you can add another entry into your arsenol of interesting stories you guys have together!  :)

EDITED TO ADD – I’m giving A + P a free 5×7 if they can get 20+ comments on this post… Sooooooo, leave them a comment and tell them what you think of their photos!!

Growing Up | Richmond + Sugar Land + Houston Childrens Photographer

whispy.

My little girl is growing up fast…  Not only is she about to have her 10th birthday in just a couple of short weeks, but she also just celebrated her First Holy Communion.  It was such a special day – And I’m sure she’ll never forget it OR the date of it…. You see, she celebrated her special day on the same day as our Nation’s Independence, July 4th!  She looked like a little doll and I took as many photos as I could before and after Mass to document the day for her…. Here are just  couple that I really thought were special.  :)

Ready.
