gorgeous.

Gorgeous.

Not only is she stunning, but she’s also smart, sweet, and full of personality!  She was a delight to work with and such a complete natural in front of the camera…

I think I see a bit of modeling in her future?

(Hey Momma K, seriously… I think you should check into it!  She’d be great at it!)

spotlight.

It was easy to tell who the star of the show is in this family… Madame Baby C!  And it’s no wonder.  Seeing as though she is such a happy-go-lucky little lady, I’m sure her parents aren’t the only ones whose attention she can grab!

Here are some faves from this petite sized session (literally, it was a mini session!) from my time in Dallas

Lovely | Dallas + Sugar Land + Houston Family Photography

light.

This was the first photo of my 2nd Dallas shoot… And it was actually just me trying to test the settings on my camera with the lovely light outside.  For whatever reason, it has ended up being one of my favorites from the whole session! I love the look he gave me…  so very real and so very honest.

I was so happy to finally meet this family – They were supposed to be a part of the December ’08 Dallas sessions, but when my up-for-sale-house surprisingly sold extra quick and we had to move out with only about 3 weeks notice RIGHT before Christmas… I ended up canceling all the sessions.  I was totally bummed that I wasn’t going to get to work with all the lovely Dallas families that had signed up.  So, when the G Family contacted me again this time around you can only imagine how happy I was to hear from them!

Here are some more of my favorites from our long awaited time together:

Oh my | Dallas + Sugar Land + Houston Baby Photography

steps.

Oh. my. word.  This session in Dallas was completely magical…

The lighting…  The location…  The wardrobe…

And of course, the sweet rosie cheeks of Miss Baby P.

Destination: Dallas ended yesterday and to say that I had oodles of fun is an understatment!  I had a complete blast meeting each and every adorably unique family!  Last night when I rolled in from Dallas at about 10:15 pm, I immediately hugged my husband, tucked my waiting children back into bed, and then started uploading all my new fantastic images to my Mac and then, of course, started editing!  Even though I was beyond tired (and sore in almost ever muscle imaginable), I couldn’t help but at least edit a couple.  And then a couple more.  Brush my teeth.  And then do a couple more.

Hang tight Dallas clients… Your sneak peeks are coming soon!!

What do you get… | Sugar Land + Meyerland + Houston Family Photography

November 5th, 2009 , Posted in Richmond + Sugar Land + Houston Childrens Photography, Richmond + Sugar Land + Houston Family Photography, Richmond + Sugar Land + Houston Kids Photography

…when you cross a giant and a vampire?  A BIG pain in the neck!

Lame joke.  I know…  Don’t blame me though.  I didn’t make it up.  That fine little joke was just one of the many (154, to be exact!) SPAM comments I got on my blog this morning.  Yes, that’s right ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY FOUR! Seriously?  Why am I getting hundreds and hundreds of SPAM comments each and everyday??  I would like it much, much, much, much, much, much more if I got 154 comments from legitimate readers.  I know you guys are out there… I see you on my stats!  But for some reason, no one seems to want to show some love!?  Come on internet blog friends, show some love!  It’s so much fun and it makes my day!

Another thing that makes my day?  These next few photos…  They are from the session I did this past Sunday with a super fantastic family.  Check em out…  And if you dare, show some love by posting a comment!  ;-)

For the record, I didn’t tell them to hug like this…  these two sweet kids are this loving towards eachother on their own.  Totally precious!

At the very end of the session, we snuck off and did some of little Miss C all by herself…  She was so excited to wear this outfit and she looked so cute in it!

And lastly, little miss sitting under a sign that say ‘four’ because hey, she’s four.  It’s was perfect!  :-)

My new loves | Sugar Land + Houston Photography

I just can’t help myself…. I’ve fallen in love with my newly purchased treasures!

oldfinds1

The richness of their color….  the textures…. the worn edges of the binding…  and the incredible scent of their pages.

I am over the moon with these little guys!!

I am so happy and proud to add them to my library and to use them as the decor in my home…  they range in age from 1923 to 1976 and each one has their own unique story.  And most of them have their original owners names scribed into the front page – complete with address and all!

oldfinds2

The one in the middle up there, entitled American History for Colleges, was actually my husband’s grandmas!  Obviously, I didn’t just purchase that one…  That one was given to my husband a little over a year ago but I decided to include it in this picture because it’s one of my favorites because of the significance and meaning to my husband.  You see, my husband teaches History… And this was his grandma’s college history book.  It has HER handwritten notes and schedule all over the place on it’s pages.  It’s quite a special little book.  And besides being special, it just looks cool.

oldfinds3

I adore the fascinating colors on Ginny Gordon and the Missing Heirloom….  Looks so pretty.  Now I just need to read it!  I’m sure it’s awesome…  It just oozes awesomeness.

Anyhow, this was pretty much a random, pointless post…  But, I enjoyed it nevertheless!

Busy, busy, busy!  Holiday Photo Season started two months ago and I am just sailing through each session and having so much fun!  I am so lucky that I get to work with the most awesome families ever….  For instance, look at these two (above & below) cuties?!  They (and their mom and dad) were a treat to work with yesterday…  Awesome personalities, great weather, sensational locations, and tons of love being shown between brother and sister.  I mean really, it was so heartwarming to watch big brother hug on his little sister for no reason at all other than that his heart was calling him to do so….  And also to see how she obviously looks up to him so much!  Good job raising these two sweethearts, P + E… They are just too adorable and too darn sweet!

Suiting Up | Sugar Land + Katy + Richmond + Rosenberg + Houston Photography

October 21st, 2009 , Posted in Photography Related Design, Richmond + Sugar Land + Houston Baby Photography, Richmond + Sugar Land + Houston Engagement Photography, Richmond + Sugar Land + Houston Family Photography, Richmond + Sugar Land + Houston HS Seniors Photography, Richmond + Sugar Land + Houston Kids Photography, Richmond + Sugar Land + Houston Maternity Photography, Sugar Land + Houston Photography: Random

A little bit of planning goes along way.  So true…  even in the art of dressing your family for your photo session!  If you want to have a look that says ‘put together’ then you are going to have to plan a little bit.  Trust me…  I know it sounds scary.  But honestly, it shouldn’t be!  It should be fun!!  The age old look of everyone wearing matching shirts, jeans, and santa hats is totally out…  and good gosh, it’s about time!  No one dresses like that in real life (do they?!?).  You’re photos should say more about you than “I can buy 5 identical red turtle necks” for my family!  Start looking around in magazines (or even on commercials/online ads) for good color combos, pick something you like, and start seaching for pieces for you and your loved ones that will coordinate, yet still lend a touch of who you are!

Here are a few easy examples I threw together just from searching on the internet at some pretty common stores….  And, for the record, I’m not saying you should go buy these exact outfits.  I’m giving you these examples to use as references as to how you can find things at everyday stores for the whole family that compliment each other!

Good luck shopping!  And, as always, keep in touch with me during your shopping experience!  I love it when clients send me their oufit choices beforehand, so I can get a visual and lend suggestions when asked.

Now for the examples:
