Just incase you didn’t notice:   Along with the new look of my blog, comes a new endeavor being offered here, only on the blog…….  I’m now offering templates for photographers!  I am very excited to announce this and finally show them off to you… these templates are just some of the ones that I created and use for my very own clients!  

So far, I have listed 4 birth announcements, 1 holiday card (yes, I know it’s only February!), and the ever-popular Valentine Candy Card Collection!  I designed each one with special care to detail… and the fun part is that they are fully customizable, so you, as the photographer, still have control over the color combos for each design.  Plus, after purchase, the layered .PSD file is ready to download and I even supply you with an instructional .PDF.  So, you definitely can’t go wrong with these… especially after you see the price.

A little bit of planning goes along way.  So true…  even in the art of dressing your family for your photo session!  If you want to have a look that says ‘put together’ then you are going to have to plan a little bit.  Trust me…  I know it sounds scary.  But honestly, it shouldn’t be!  It should be fun!!  The age old look of everyone wearing matching shirts, jeans, and santa hats is totally out…  and good gosh, it’s about time!  No one dresses like that in real life (do they?!?).  You’re photos should say more about you than “I can buy 5 identical red turtle necks” for my family!  Start looking around in magazines (or even on commercials/online ads) for good color combos, pick something you like, and start seaching for pieces for you and your loved ones that will coordinate, yet still lend a touch of who you are! 

Here are a few easy examples I threw together just from searching on the internet at some pretty common stores….  And, for the record, I’m not saying you should go buy these exact outfits.  I’m giving you these examples to use as references as to how you can find things at everyday stores for the whole family that compliment each other!

Second:  I’ve been getting my design fix as of lately by designing a logo and watermark combo for the sweet Adriana of Belenova Photography…  She was fun to work with on this design project and I wish her the best luck as she starts her new photography business!  After falling in love with the first logo, she wanted to see it in the colors she originally had her heart set on.  Of course, like most girls who are facing a difficult decision, she found it hard to decide which color combo she liked best… So, she did exactly what I would have done!   She got both!

I’m looking for several high school age girl models for an upcoming high fashion photo shoot…..  If you are interested, contact me and I will give you the hook-up!  And, by all means, if you think you might know someone who may only be the slightest bit interested, please send them my way anyhow….   Because seriously, I’m *super-duper* excited about these shoots and plan to go ALL out to make them as fabulous as possible for all the participants!!

Valentine’s weekend… What wonderful weekend for love!  Even though a lot of people feel like Valentine’s is just a fake, commercialized holiday (which it somewhat is, I guess), I still believe it’s a good time to thank your sweetie for being so sweet and for reminding them just how much you love them.  This past weekend, I did just that.   And although my sweetie and I didn’t get to go out on the town for the fabulous Valentine’s date we had hoped for, we did enjoy ourselves a nice little Valentine’s lunch date at PF Changs right before heading over to a VIP birthday party for my nephew’s 5th birthday  (where we simaltaniously celebrated my niece’s 6th birthday).  And honestly, we couldn’t have asked for a better time!  We had eachother, our loving family, some friends, tons of cotton candy, cake, and a truck load of Super Mario Bros birthday party gear!  Seriously… I’ve never seen so much Mario in one location.  My nephew, who goes by the names Mario, Luigi, Yoshi (but never, ever Bowser!) depending on what mood he’s in, loves  Super Mario Bros and was having such intense fun opening all of his Mario presents that the rain and cold didn’t even seem to bother him one single bit.  Unfortunately, I didn’t take any pictures at the party because I [ gasp! ] forgot my camera at home… but I would like to take some space out of this post to showcase a  little photo of me and my Valentine….  I love him so much!  He is mine and I am his. 

Next up on my list of things to blog about… Another design I created.  This time for my fabulous hairstylist Lynn, whom I’ve mentioned a million times before on this blog.  She had me design a marketing card for her…  I had fun working with her and I think the end results turned out great.  The card design was custom designed by yours truly, but the photo was courtesy of Lynn (via Framesi Professional Haircare Products).
