I’m happy to announce that I will be participating again this year in the Layla Grace Portrait Party Charity event!  This year the event is expanding beyond the Houston area to cities all over the nation!

Last year, I was beyond honored to be asked to join 9 other photographers in the Houston area to help raise money for the Marsh Family who lost their little girl, Layla Grace, to neuroblastoma cancer… The event was called Portrait Party for Layla.  The money we raised by doing our photo sessions was donated to the family to help cover their medical bills that they incurred during their little angel’s battle with cancer.  The event was a big success with an overwhelming response and was covered by the news 3 times!

A year later, there is now a foundation in place, The Layla Grace Foundation, which raises awareness of childhood cancers and funds research for new treatments.  Read through their website and become familiar with the organization…  I’m sure you will be moved by the stories you read.  As a mother myself, I can’t help but try imagine the unimaginable situations of the children and parents spotlighted on this site’s blog.

Accordions are totally in… Did you know?  Not the traditional ones that play music — although I do actually think those are pretty neat too… Neat enough that I even bought my youngest two daughters accordions for Christmas — but! I’m talking about accordion inspired items!  I’ve got two new products this year that are accordion style and they totally rock out my 2011 line-up!

The Accordion Brag Book

This little baby is packed will all kinds of exciting elements…  It’s wallet sized so it easily fits into your purse.  And because of it’s small size, it can be whipped out for a quick session of child bragging at a moment’s notice.  It features a gorgeous custom designed cover featuring your favorite image as the main attraction.  Nifty fan folded accordion style linen pages unfold to display more of your photos.  Oh, it’s also magnetic.  Which of course means that you can display it on your fridge at home or at the office on a filing cabinet… And you get the option to buy in sets of 3, which makes them the perfect grandparent gift.  Completely cool product.

The Accordion Album

Similar to the Accordion Brag Book… Only bigger and a lot more awe power!  It’s 4×8 in size and features a custom designed photo cover!  The size of this product is so unusually interesting which makes it unlike any other album you’ve seen before!  It also features fan folded accordion style linen pages like the Brag Book… only  much, much bigger!

The large pages give full spread images quite the awesome visual impact…

This album is a fun alternate to my other album (which will be pictured in my next post) for a couple of reasons…  It has a very fun, unique size.  And, it’s priced perfectly for not breaking the budget.

Wow… I’ve been away for far too long! I forced myself to completely shut down over the holiday season (literally had to not open my email or listen to voicemails), so I could spend some much needed time with my family.  But, surprisingly, the resting went by fast and now it’s time to get back to communicating with you all!

I’m super excited to be back actually… I’ve got some fresh, new products to show for my 2011 line-up!  I’m thrilled to offer these new high-end products and I really believe that once you SEE them in person, you will fall in love with them just like I did!

The Chromolux Panel

This little baby is so sleek. So modern. And, so incredibly glossy.  Really, it takes gloss to a higher level!  It’s your image printed directly onto a wooden panel and then finished off with a super high gloss.  And to make it even more awesome, it has an easel built right onto the back of it… It’s a glossy photo and frame all-in-one!  So fun!

I tried to capture the gloss with my lens, but I really couldn’t get it just right… You really have to see this product to get the full affect of it’s wow-factor.

The Metal Print

This product is uh-maaaaaze-ing….  I couldn’t stop staring at it when I first laid eyes and hands on it.  It’s just so… so unique.  And, so gorgeous.

It’s your image printed directly onto a sheer aluminum panel…  Very shiny. Bits of metal peeking through the image giving it an extremely distinct look.  Clean rounded edges.  And, hello?  Did I mention, it’s METAL?!?  So awesome.

And, the cool thing is that there are several ways to display this type of print…  On the wall using either brackets or a frosted frame (not pictured on this post) OR by using this very sleek Ice Block Stand for desktop display:

Another fun day working with a beautiful college graduate!  The weather was perfect and she was such a natural in front of the camera… Really.  It was actually ridiculous how nearly every picture I took of her she looked perfect!  …Do you know how hard that makes picking which pictures to proof for her gallery?!?!

B, it was fun working with you – You’re a doll!

She’s lighthearted and laughs a lot too… Which I happen to love to photograph.

This weekend I got to meet a gorgeous college grad and document this important time in her life… College graduation!  For some reason many people overlook it and don’t decide to capture it via professional photography!  But, it’s a totally significant thing, so why not photograph yourself?!  Entering the working world after years of studying is something to be excited about!  She can look back at these pictures and remember exactly where she was at this moment when so many things in her life started to change!  Congrats!  ;)

Not only was she beautiful… She was full of laughter and so incredible sweet!

Yay!  The holiday season is upon us!  I am excited to announce that this year I will be doing Holiday Mini Sessions in my own town!!  The past two years, I only offered these minis in Austin and Dallas…  They were a big hit there, but I think it’s definitely time I offered this special to you guys too!

Keep in mind… These Holiday Mini Sessions do NOT have to be holiday themed or all about family.  They can be anything you want them to be: photos of yourself, your baby, your baby bump, your twins, your parents, your dog… whatever.

The session slots are limited and I expect that they won’t last all that long.  So, if you are interested or need more info, shoot me an email or give me a call so we can get you set up.  :)

I can’t believe it…  Summer is officially over and Monday we head back to school!  I’m excited about what this school year will bring… My oldest is starting middle school and my middle child is starting kinder!  Should be an interesting year, to say the least!!

By the way, I must mention…  The above photo is quite possibly my favorite photo of A1 to date.  Love the attitude she gave me!
