I just can’t help myself…  No matter how hard I try, I can’t resist the urge to post more from this absolutely stunning and wonderful senior session!

Not only is this girl totally sweet and genuine, but she’s also loads of fun and really talented!  This girl is definitely going places, so watch out world!

Love these two!  Not sure which is my favorite:

She was quite a sport too…  She did whatever was necessary for the shot!  :)

Can you guess one of the many things she’s talented in?

Yup.  You guessed it.  Tae Kwon Do.

And, one last photo that I just had to get before she and I called it quits…..  The Tiger!!  Grrr!  :)

ZozoBugBaby | Children’s Commercial Photographer

Am I thrilled or what?!  I have been dying to post these photos for days now…  Not to mention, I’ve been bursting at the seems to announce my affiliation with Julie Martin, an amazing children’s clothing designer, who creates one of a kind clothing for little ladies sizes 12 months through 12/14 on her label, ZozoBugBaby!

ZozoBugBaby creates some of the freshest, most eclectic, ever-so-fab designs I’ve ever seen!  So when we, by chance, discussed back in January working together on doing a commercial shoot to promote part of her utterly cute, new spring clothing line, I was beyond thrilled!  The sweet designer children’s clothes Julie creates are more than perfect for what I call a *perfect* photo session and are, without a doubt, clothes that I’d love to have hanging in my own children’s closets!

Introducing the absolutely adorable Lollipop Garden Dress:

You’d never guess that my little angel A3 wasn’t feeling that great here…. but, unfortunately, she wasn’t.  She was just really excited to model this cute dress:

And, the  very summery and yummy colored  Ocean Swirl Skirt:

And, the matching Rosette Initial Tee:

Finally, the Reata Skirt.  Yes, that’s right folks… it’s actually named after ME! How awesome is that?!

And, lastly, a shot I got of both my older girls modeling the Ocean Twirl Skirt and the Reata Skirt…  Love the colors on these clothes!  So gorgeous!

Seriously friends, ZozoBugBaby clothing is not only adorable, but is really, really well made and the attention to detail is superb.  Anything you buy will be adored by all!  Rush over to her shop and go wild… You’ll thank me later!  ;)

Yup, still here. | Sugar Land + Richmond + Houston Childrens Photography

I’m sure it appears to all of you Blog Readers, that my 2010 New Year’s Resolution must have went a little something like this:   1) blog less 2) be lazy  3) go MIA

BUT!  I assure you, this was not the case!  I’m still here.  I’ve just been so super busy doing “behind the scenes” work that I honestly haven’t been able to bare making myself take the time to prepare images for a blog post!  ( Gosh, that really sounds pretty stinkin’ lame, doesn’t it?!  But, it’s actually so true!  )

Sorry about that, Blog Readers!  I promise to start doing better at communicating again…  I’ve actually got some exciting stuff to share with you, but not quite yet (although, if you are a fan of my facebook page, you’ll probably hear about my exciting news sooner!).

Until then, enjoy these images from my oldest daughters’ most recent photo session…. She loves being in front of my camera.  And, I think my camera loves her to be there too.  :)

She looks so sweet here:

Adding this tree branch as a prop was her idea and I LOVE it!!  So goofy and SO her:

And, lastly, my without-a-doubt favorite from the whole day…

I just can’t help myself…. I’ve fallen in love with my newly purchased treasures!

oldfinds1

The richness of their color….  the textures…. the worn edges of the binding…  and the incredible scent of their pages.

I am over the moon with these little guys!!

I am so happy and proud to add them to my library and to use them as the decor in my home…  they range in age from 1923 to 1976 and each one has their own unique story.  And most of them have their original owners names scribed into the front page – complete with address and all!

oldfinds2

The one in the middle up there, entitled American History for Colleges, was actually my husband’s grandmas!  Obviously, I didn’t just purchase that one…  That one was given to my husband a little over a year ago but I decided to include it in this picture because it’s one of my favorites because of the significance and meaning to my husband.  You see, my husband teaches History… And this was his grandma’s college history book.  It has HER handwritten notes and schedule all over the place on it’s pages.  It’s quite a special little book.  And besides being special, it just looks cool.

oldfinds3

I adore the fascinating colors on Ginny Gordon and the Missing Heirloom….  Looks so pretty.  Now I just need to read it!  I’m sure it’s awesome…  It just oozes awesomeness.

Anyhow, this was pretty much a random, pointless post…  But, I enjoyed it nevertheless!

On Empty | Sugar Land + Houston + Needville Senior Photography

October 15th, 2009 , Posted in Richmond + Sugar Land + Houston Family Photography, Richmond + Sugar Land + Houston HS Seniors Photography, Richmond + Sugar Land + Houston Kids Photography, Sugar Land + Houston Photography: My Life, Uncategorized

Confession:  I’ve got a bad habit.  By nature, I am a perpetual night owl… defying my body’s natural sleep needs and burning the mid-night oil till all hours of the night without the aid of coffee.  I’m not sure if I’ll ever change, but I sure would like to!  Every now and then, when I actually get a normal amount of rest, I feel so amazing!  My brain becomes 10x sharper and I feel so energized that I could clean and play all day long and not have a single complaint.

Typically after the kids are sound asleep, if I’m not working on my business then I’m cleaning the house or trying to snag a few minutes in front of the TV with my husband.  However, lately, I’ve been spending my nights chit-chatting with my hubbie as I work away on my computer…  It’s been a busy world over here at Sugar Shots – And although, I love it (like seriously, looooove it!), this workload keeps giving me even more excuses to stay plugged into photoshop editing away until my eyeballs start feeling like they are gonna fall out.  I think this bad habit of mine (ours) is just that – a bad habit.  It can be broken…  just like any old habit can be.  But, I think one of the reasons it’s been so easy for me to stick with my bad habit is because my sweet, little husband stays up with me while I work so we can “hang out”….  He lays on the floor with the laptop and we jam out to tunes while I work.  Sounds like good quality time together, huh?!  Yeah right!  But, hey, at least he’s in there with me!

Anyhow, tonight, I’m going to put a stop to my long run of late nighters… I’m going to tell my husband my ever famous line: Tonight we are going to sleep early!!  No late night editing, internet surfing, or youtube video jamming….  No Toddlers and Tiaras.  No King of the Crown.  And absolutely no Slim In 6 or PX90 workout infomercials!!  Let’s just talk, snuggle and fall into a deep, restful slumber!

We’ll see what happens…. I’m pretty sure tonight is the night that habits will be broken!!  Yay! :)

And, because I don’t want to leave this post bare…  Here are some more of my faves from this senior session

Well, heeeeeellooooo Handsome!

This little guy was so easy to work with… he’s adorable as can be and so laid back!  His momma came well equipped with all sorts of goodies for us to work with as far as wardrobe was concerned… And although some babies might not go for all the wardrobe changes, this little fella didn’t mind at all!  I think he might have even liked it!  :]

Out the Window. Sugar Shots Photography│Sugar Land Photographer

March 23rd, 2009 , Posted in Richmond + Sugar Land + Houston Kids Photography, Sugar Land + Houston Photography: My Life, Uncategorized

This was one of those weeks where I wanted to throw my computer out the window of a moving car into a burning building full of highly explosive cans of hairspray.

It was beautiful weather outside and my kids/husband were on spring break.  I longed to be in the sunshine and have not a single care in the world.  I had oodles and oodles of editing to do though.  And of course, I had a stack of paper a mile high to input into the computer for my taxes too.  Being true to myself, I made a plan of action.  If I wanted to get through all my work and still have time to play, it was going to take precise planning.  Once my To Do List was in order, I thought to myself, “Self, this isn’t going to be so bad.  I can get these 2 sessions and all my paperwork done on Monday…  Then if I have to spill over, I can fill the extra spots of time here, here, and here with editing, etc.  I’ll have the rest of my time to boogie down with the family! Ooooh yeah!“  (I was quite proud of my planning, you see.)

My computer had other plans for me.  It didn’t want to cooperate and every thing I clicked on quite literally took 10 – 15 seconds to start working/opening.  About 1/2 the time it would freeze up and tell me that the program was ‘not responding’ and the other 1/2 it completely shut itself down.  What gives?!?!

I have never been so frustrated with a machine in my life!  Every time I sat down at the computer, I left it about 6 hours later feeling completely angry and like my time had been wasted!

Anyhow, spring break is over now, school has started again, and my computer seems to be acting like it’s normal self again.  Of course.

Today, A1 represented her modeling agency for their client, Academy Sports + Outdoors.  She was a swim suit model and she had a lot of  fun.  This was only her 3rd time modeling, but I think she did really well…  Just like a pro!

Perfectionist. Sugar Shots Photography│Sugar Land Family Photographer

March 12th, 2009 , Posted in Richmond + Sugar Land + Houston Family Photography, Richmond + Sugar Land + Houston Kids Photography, Uncategorized

I find it very annoying that I am a perfectionist.

Of course, it has it’s perks in life… Like when I’m making the bed, scrubbing the toilet, decorating holiday cookies, folding laundry, applying eyeliner, editing photos, etc…  But dang!  It can get me into trouble every now and then too!

For example:  Over the last couple of days, I’ve been editing a session from this past weekend and I couldn’t bring myself to find a stopping point.  I mean, Good God!  These pictures are so stinkin cute that it’s ridiculous!

So… Tonight after sitting at my computer for what seems like only a couple of minutes [but in reality was probably a couple of hours], I think I’ve finally quenched my thirst for finding enough pictures to blog about.  [As a side note, I think my eyeballs are about to fall out from looking at the computer screen for so long.  Ouch!]

Well, let’s let ‘er rip….  Here’s your long awaited sneak peek, S Family!  Thanks for being so patient – I hope you love these as much as I do! :)

Party of 7. Sugar Shots Photography│Sugar Land Family Photographer

March 9th, 2009 , Posted in Richmond + Sugar Land + Houston Family Photography, Richmond + Sugar Land + Houston Kids Photography, Uncategorized

What a weekend…..

Three sessions, a dinner date with my hubbie, a house cleaning extravaganza, playing in the sprinkler, grocery shopping, a visit from some old friends, garage cleaning, dog walking, kid chasing.  We were so busy this weekend, we didn’t even have time to bother feeling burdened by the chores we knocked out!

Actually, it felt quite good to really scrub down the house and start organizing the garage… well, actually, I just watched as my husband organized the garage… but whatever.   Here’s what you don’t understand about our garage though:  It’s been the “catch all” location for the past 3 months for stashing all the items that don’t have a place in our new home yet (we moved in December, remember?).  Anyhow, it’s been such a wreck in there ever since we moved in that it makes me feel lightheaded to even just look at it.  You see, I looooove organization… So of course, I moved all the clutter and random items I’m saving for a garage  sale [that will probably never happen] out of my house and into the garage.  But, now whenever I need to go out there to grab something it makes me go a bit nutty.  (Btw, I don’t really notice clutter in other people’s homes… strange, huh?!  It’s just my own that really freaks me out).

Yeah, yeah.  I know what you’re thinking… ”Dude, Reata…  Don’t you have  like 3 kids and 2 dogs?  How the heck are you still kickin?  Shouldn’t the clutter from those 5 beings have sent you over the edge by now?!”

The answer is: Yes.  I probably should be over the edge already.  However, I am a bit of a medical miracle, ya know.  Plus, I take deep breaths every now and then.  And, to top it off, I have an awesome husband who helps me keep things tidy.  [ Thanks, My Love. ]

Okay… Enough of how neurotic I am!  Let’s move along to the best part of my post…….. The sneak peek!  I had a great time working with these guys!  Thanks for braving the powerful winds with me…. I think you will find your images were worth it!
